Buying a garbage disposal

September 27th, 2007 by admin

Garbage disposals tend to be long lasting so it is important to get something you’re going to be satisfied with. It may be worth spending extra for a quieter model. Quiet, stainless steel models are available for less that $200. Cheaper units have a one year warranty whereas the more expensive ones have 4-7 year guarantees. In-sink-erator makes all disposals and puts different retail labels on them. It may be a good idea while at friend’s homes to ask to listen to the disposal and for their likes and dislikes.

Do not put fibrous foods such as celery or pasta into disposals. Also, waste such as coffee grounds and eggshells will plug them because they don’t float.
