1. Used your product and no more odor. As I was rereading the information you state that this is a one year supply. When/where do I use it or should I expect the smell to come back?

   Your nose is the best indicator when you should clean your washer. Most important to keep your washer and laundry free from odor are your washing habits.

2. do i need to re-wash all of the towels and clothes? Thats alot of washes?
   can i put the smelly washer directly into washer or through the dispenser? does it matter?

   Trish/ Put Smellywasher Cleaner directly into the detergent dispenser or into the washer - it doesn’t matter. If the laundry was used for the initial cleaning of the washer you should rewash the whole load with detergent to remove the dead fungus spores.

3. How often should we use the product to prevent smell from returning?

   Hi Rich/ Good question - Use Smelly Washer when you notice odor in your washer or laundry. Use just a level cap for preventive maintenance to stop mildew from growing deep inside the tub.

6. I have a smelly garbage disposal and it is NOT from old food still down there. Can this product somehow work in a disposal?

   Wendy/ Smellywasher cleaner works for removing odor from garbage disposals. I suspect it is your P or S trap below the disposal that is causing odor. You can easily remove the odor by mixing a tablespoon of smellywasher cleaner in a 1-2 gallon bucket of hot water and pouring it down the smelly drain before retiring for the night. A good way to clean your disposal is to add ice to the disposal and then turn it on while running hot water. The sudden change in temperature loosens food residue and allows it through.

7. Dose this product work for top load mach as well every thing smells great until it hits the water. Then it smells bad.

8. I am amazed at the effectiveness of this product! I was ready to call the repairman because I was SURE something crawled in my washer and died (fungus can’t possibly smell THAT bad!). 9. Once I run the agitation for 2-3 minutes on hot, do I leave the lid closed or open on my washer for the night?

10. Received product today, but it doesn’t state ingredients. What are they?

11. I just received my order and have used it twice to try and get rid of odor. I have a new LG front loader. The smell is still there! I used it once with a regular wash cycle and once with the Tub Clean. Any suggestions?? I am so upset with this odor in a new machine.

    Hi Carol/ I know it’s discouraging when the odor isn’t removed immediately. If you add a level cap of smellywasher cleaner to your dispenser and allow to agitate in the hottest cycle (tub clean in your case) for 2-4 minutes then stop the washer and allow it to soak for several hours (even overnight for extreme cases) rather than letting the washer immediately go through its wash cycle it will give smellywasher more time to dissolve the mold buildup deep inside your washer. The overnight soaks really do make a world of difference! Could you please go the “washing machine help” link at the top of our website and fill out the questionaire? 12. I have an LG front loader which cannot be paused. The machine shuts off automatically 4 minutes after I press pause. What can I do now?? I cannot let the product soak at all. And the smell is really bad.

    Carol/ Please use a cap of Smelly Washer in the “sanitary” or other cleaning cycle of the washer. The cycle will add extra water to include the splash area.

13. I have tried your product, but it seems to work for awhile then the smell comes back I have tried it overnight but I don’t see any mold come to the top of the washer like other people have talked about the smell is awful. can you help Thanks

    Persistent or returning odor is a sign of remaining residue. Please add a cap of Smelly Washer or Towel Cleaner to a full load of laundry. The added bulk of the clothing will raise the water level to include the area just above the wash line. For worse cases intermittently pause and restart to soak.

15. I bought your product because I have an 8 year old front loader and I noticed my towels have a smell to them. My washer didn’t have a smell before I used it but now it does. I thought maybe it was working the smell out but after using it 5 times it smells worse every time I try. What do you recommend.

    Hi Deb/ Your washer has had ample time to build quite a thick layer of mold and bacteria. As the buildup is dissolved it can smell much worse. If it does please repeat the process. There are 24 treatments in one bottle of Smelly Washer. After the odor has lessened please add a cap of Smelly Washer or Towel Cleaner to a full load of whites. The added bulk of the laundry will raise the cleaning water level to include the splash area 3-5 inches above the normal waterline. This area always has the worst buildup.

17. For years I complained to my local water company and my water softener company that something HAD to be wrong with the water coming in to the house. My front-loading washer smelled, as well as the towels and athletic clothing. I assured my husband that I was diligently unloading the washer and drying I even took the bottom portion of the washer apart, thinking that maybe the missing hamster would be found :YUCK: I love your product! It took many long soaks to clear up the problem, but well worth it. I just ordered 2 more bottles. I am committed to maintaining the cleanliness and I called my water softener company with accolaides for your product. They hope to be able to supply it soon as many people had the same complaints.

22. My Kenmore Elite Calypso Wash Motion top-loading washer empties when unplugged, shut off, opened, put in pause or allowed to go through the cycle. It simply cannot soak with the cleaner. I filled the washer with buckets of water and added the cleaner as directed but when you fill it like that, it won’t agitate. Only one agitated is me, with my washer. I don’t doubt your product works, but my washer isn’t responding, even after repeated uses. At the rate I’m going, I will use the “year supply” in a matter of weeks.

    The Whirlpool Calypso is in a “washer world of it’s own”. It’s a fine washer but has had changes made to it. The drain pump, wash plate and drum u-joint have all been improved. Detergent use and non-fabric softener use is utmost with the Calypso because it uses a recirculating chamber designed to save water. Suds cause a residue buildup in the chamber and can cause problems with water flow. It’s important to use a very small amount of HE detergent and no fabric softener. To clean the Calypso: Add 3 towels to the washer while doing a clean to cause the control to add more hot water and allow the washer to complete the cycle. If the washer has a “soak” cycle - use it. If not - use the whites setting.

23. It worked, hooray! My top-loading Kenmore has smelled like a wet dog for almost a year. Fortunately, it wasn’t affecting my laundry, but the smell coming from the machine was awful. I had an extreme case and had tried everything. It took 7 cleanings with Smelly Washer - but it finally worked. I also had to add water for the soaks. Three cleanings started to loosen the gunk (I could see it in the water, and the water had a green tint), and I could then clean the loose stuff from around the inside of the rim with a small brush and rag. I think this originated from when an old roommate washed her rugs in the machine, and she had a dog. Anyway, thank you! I’ll keep using SW each month for maintenance. By the way, I wonder if Kenmore machines tend to have more problems than others? I see a lot of complaints about odors for Kenmores.

    Mold build up is not model specific. It is present in all clothes washers to a certain degree but is noticed more in front load or high efficiency washers more because of the lesser amount of water used. It is easily controlled after the washer has been initially cleaned.
    Other causes of washing machine smells are fabric softener buildup and using only cold water for washing. Cold water is fine for washing but preventative maintenance is important because hot water dissolves residue much better. A weekly hot soak should be sufficient for removing any accumulated residue.

26. Your company should contact universities/colleges as most have front loaders & many have mold mildew issues at times,
    I advised my son to wash his clothes off campus as front loaders in his dorm full mold mildew smell and rubber gasket and soap dispenser have the issue. I used your product as a preventative measure on my front loader and have always performed cleaning tips.

27. How do I best “soak” overnite in a front end loader? At what point do I “stop” machine for it to soak? I do not have a “soak” option on my washer.
