Smelly Washer’s Poll On Household Behavior

34% of married women want their husbands to do less around the house, according to a new poll by manufacturer Smelly Washer. 39% said this was because their husband does a bad job, while 25% said it was because they enjoyed doing housework themselves.

The more a man does around the house, the less their help is wanted, according to the results of the study. And in a majority of homes men either do the same or more than their wife. So this could explain why attitudes have evolved over time. Today, though, women still do more housework in 43% of households.

Smelly Washer conducted the poll as part of a broader campaign to understand consumer behavior, explained CEO Paul Flynn. “Most cleaning products are marketed only to women. But this study demonstrates the naivety of this approach. We’ve always found men and women are equally interested in our products, because nobody wants their clothes to stink of mildew!”
